Yummy patties with leftover Vermicelli / Semiya upma



My MIL is a pro at inventing new dishes with leftover food, she keeps experimenting with really boring breakfast items and turns them into interesting evening #ChaiTime  dishes . Today i am sharing one such recipe, this tops my favorite chai time snack list. These patties are so yummy, you have to make them to believe me. Best part of these patties they are shallow fried , NOT DEEP FRIED! 
Vermicelli is like Indian noodles, two most popular dishes made with this are Upma and a payasam (sweet dish). I am going to share a third version of it. which is super yummy and healthy too.
What you need?
  • Semiya/ Vermicelli Upma
  • Finely chopped Onions
  •  Green chilies
  • Black mustard seeds
  • Green peas (if not added n your upma)
  • Generous amounts of coriander
  • Salt
  • Chat masala
  • All purpose flour (for binding)
How to make yummy patties?
Take all the leftover Vermicelli upma, to this add finely chopped onions , green chilies and coriander , all purpose for binding and mix them well (every thing needs to be mashed); You can add a little water and mix it well. You can refer to the below image for the batter!
