Lacha Daal Paratha with leftover Palak daal.

What did you have for lunch? "Daal chawal" is the most common items answer you would hear. I have a quick breakfast / dinner recipe with leftover daal.
This paratha i am going to talk about can be made with any leftover daal. I will post the different varieties of daal parathas as and when i make them.

Today, lets make "Palak daal parata"

I made lacha daal paratha; you can make normal ones too and trust me they'll turn out as good. For normal paratha, Just skip step 3. :)

What do you need to make a Palak Daal Paratha?
  • Leftover Palak daal
  • Wheat flour
  • Water
  • Oil/ Ghee
  • Salt
  • Chilli powder
How to make Palak Daal Paratha?

Step 1: Take a wide bowl and add the leftover Palak Daal in it, add wheat flour, a pinch of salt and kneed all this in to a fine dough. Set this aside for 15 - 20 minutes. I whipped my daal before mixing it in the dough, you can mix it directly as well.

Step 2: Make small balls and flatten them using a roti stick/ roller. Dust them with some wheat flour and make round shape.

Step 3: Sprinkele some Red chilli powder, salt and fold it like a fan, starting from one corner circle it and flatten it again using a rolling pin. You should be able to see the circles on the paratha.

Step 4: Heat a pan and add a little ghee, now place the flattened roti on the pan and cook it on low flame. Apply some ghee on the top and turn it over. Take off the pan once it is cooked on both sides. Serve it with some nice Achar/ pickle and some masala curd.
